VANDERBILT ALUMNI SOCIAL MEDIA

In addition to managing the social media presence for the university’s flagship channels, I also contribute to the social media presence for the university’s alumni channels. Take a closer look at the goals, execution and results of just a few campaigns below, including my involvement and contributions to each. These campaigns aim to deepen alumni connections, encourage participation in university initiatives and foster a sense of pride and belonging — long after graduation.

REUNION

GOAL:

Celebrate one of the biggest weekends of the year through unique social media tactics leading up to, during and after the celebration.

EXECUTION:

  • Regularly converse with teams across the division of marketing and communications to gather insights that help shape a cohesive social media strategy to maximize the impact of the weekend.

  • Share content in the lead up to the weekend to build excitement and encourage alumni attendance.

  • Provide live social media coverage during Reunion that leverages both high-quality photos and videos and lofi content captured during the weekend.

  • Extend the life of Reunion and build nostalgia by continuing to share content during the week after the celebration.

RESULTS:

Content from Vanderbilt’s 2024 Reunion weekend generated 39,300+ engagements and 115,800+ video views in total.

During Reunion 2024, I contributed to creating and posting many pieces of content, including this Taylor Swift-inspired graphic.

DARE TO GROW

GOAL:

Promote Vanderbilt’s Dare to Grow campaign, a fundraising endeavor fueled by initiatives that bring the institution closer to its most ambitious vision: To be the great university of the 21st century.

EXECUTION:

  • Elevate the campaign on social media by weaving #DaretoGrow into various pieces of social media content and linking to the campaign’s landing page.

  • Share content from the Dare to Grow events taking place in various cities across the country, specifically interviews with alumni and attendees at the events.

DARE TO GROW

RESULTS:

The #DaretoGrow campaign has generated 135,800+ engagements and 665,400+ video views across social media platforms as of April 2025.

Since the launch of the campaign, I have attended three events (Miami, Atlanta and Washington, D.C.) to capture and produce videos for social media and email communication purposes. I have also contributed to live social media coverage of these events, and supported the development of non-event related #DaretoGrow content across the Vanderbilt Alumni social media channels.
